A lecturer is praising the efforts of Employability Clare in helping her to reintegrate into the workplace following life-changing injuries she sustained a decade ago.
While taking part in the Wicklow 200 kilometre cycling event in 2016, Stella Sloane suffered a brain bleed, a collapsed lung, and a broken collarbone on what she described as a wet and dark day.
Following the accident, Stella spent a significant period recovering in Beaumont Hospital. Through determination and support, she successfully returned to her role at the University of Galway’s Shannon College of Hotel Management, where she now works as a lecturer in Accommodation Services.
Reflecting on her experience, Stella described the support she received from Employability Clare as a hugely helpful process in her journey back to work.
